Vermont News Guy has been a successful and informative blog and is sheeding some light on some serious state issues even in the wake of declining news departments at all of Vermont’s Dailys. A Wordpress with lots of bells and whistles including synchronizing with Twitter and Facebook status to keep everyone up to date.

This website was built using the crowd-sourcing software IdeaScale to plumb the public for issue positions that might be helpful to the political campaign. It got some attention for the campaign by getting written up in an article at Adweek although it never really got enough response.

My first foray into political web sites came when I ran for Governor in 2008. There were some successes, some failures but most importantly I learned a lot. It really was the challenge I was looking for. I even debated the governor. Hey, you don’t do that every day.
