We recently remade the website of a close friend and Maui Wedding Photographer, Kaua Woessner. Kaua was looking to put his photography front and center of his website as a way to have the bride-to-be instantly fall in love with his work. Built on the Wordpress platform it also makes it possible for Kaua to add a story about his weddings on his new blog. We used the ShowitWeb flash slide show builder to add music and transitions to his photography.

Peter Shumlin for Vermont Governor

My latest creation is a website for the gubernatorial campaign of Peter Shumlin. He’s a man with a lot of political courage and now he has a top notch online presence as well. The website is built on the open source platform Wordpress and is well integrated with all of the social media sites. To top it off we used an installation of phplist – an open source email list management tool – to manage the campaign communications

Meg Gibson approached me with her own design that she wanted translated to the web. Her new website megibsonart.com showcases her beautiful scientific illustration, design, and photography. Meg is very talented and pleasant to work with. I recommend her for those looking for design particularly for those looking for hand drawn illustrations. This was a Wordpress installation alongside Gallery 2.

Vermont Fine Woodworking

This is a website that I created for my brother’s fine woodworking and cabinetry shop in West Glover, VT. It provides him a way to manage his photo Gallery through iPhoto. It is built using Wordpress and Gallery 2.3 with the WPG2 plugin to integrate the 2. We rebranded his business as Vermont Fine Woodworking. If you are looking to install a fine custom kitchen in Vermont, then Ed is definitely the man to call. The design was done by M.E. Gibson Art.

This was a project that I participated in this summer as a subcontractor for Brandthropology in Burlington. They are a really dynamic team and I had a good time getting to know them. Brandthropology actually took this project on as a pro-bono project to help support what they feel is a valuable community enterprise. It allowed me to get down into the nitty gritty of building websites with Drupal. This was a multisite installation for all of ReSource’s projects ReStore, ReBuild, ReTrain, RePair and ReTrian.

I did the web development for this site of one of Montpelier’s lobbying and public relations firms. Or in today’s terms Government Affairs and Strategic Communications. The design was done by Scuola Group out of Burlington and the Project Management was handled by Kimbell Sherman Ellis. This was a project that really tested me with where I could go with the Wordpress platform and made me more confident than ever that is is a really powerful and infinitely customizable web platform.

NEK Music Festival

I was the project manager and programmer for the redesign of the Northeast Kingdom Music Festival website. It uses Wordpress for a Content Management System integrated with Gallery 2 (photo management) using the WPG2 plugin. It has many of the bells and whistles of the Web 2.0 environment including integration with Myspace, Twitter, Youtube and Facebook. It also makes use of a Facebook application that allows people coming to the festival to arrange carpooling.

This was a nice little blurb published in the Fall/Winter 2008 edition in the alumni Journal of Prescott College. The byline for the issue was “Be the Change: Changing the world from inside the system and out”. I was one of the eight people featured who were changing the system from within.

It involved transferring product data from the previous site as well as integrating the payment gateway and custom shipping options.
